Skills secretary Jacqui Smith has pledged to look into ways to prevent development trainees from leaving.

Following a roundtable with businesses and industry associations like Balfour Beatty, Build UK, and the Construction Industry Training Board, Smith hosted a conversation with Construction News in west London.

Smith also disclosed that Kier Group has committed to sponsoring career activities, page appointments, work experiences, and apprentices for more than 2, 000 young people over the course of three times.
