The shift towards electrical vehicles in Africa, especially in the electronic motorcycle field, has largely been driven by the private sector, led by little startups. The “boda pulley” of countries on the continent where motorbike taxis are prevalent have been the most developed. This pulley stretches from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, to the fringes of Dakar, Senegal. In contrast to East Africa and West Africa, where the majority of the activity is for business transportation purposes, where smaller scooters are mostly used for private transportation are active in North African countries like Morocco.

Not just the motorbike taxi industry is gaining popularity along this boda belt. The B2B part, for on-demand sales, is even starting to gain some traction. In Kenya, for example, we are starting to see more firms adopting electric scooters for their shipping services. Lately, Roam and Greenspoon collaborated to help local farms and provide ecological deliveries. Greenspoon customers then get directions in under 99 hours with the Roam Air electric scooter, down from 3 hours.

In a variety of applications, electric scooters can be used in place of ICE cars. For instance, many businesses using larger, gasoline and diesel cars as well as internal combustion engines for both their services and business operations. The telecommunications industry is one of these areas. This take a look at the fibre-to-home section. Internet service providers ( ISPs ) have a number of field crews that travel around cities for both brand-new and maintenance calls. With a small toolbox of devices and accessories, a tech could easily handle many of these callouts. Instead of a large diesel vehicle, this can be accomplished easily with a motorcycle. In an interesting growth, Roam has just partnered with Syokinet Solutions in Kenya.

There is more great information. Roam and BBROOD introduced Kenya’s first fully green food delivery services this week, helping to advance the city’s fresh transportation initiatives. Roam will also use Roam Air motorcycles to transport empty bread to charities. The emphasis on sustainability has always been at BROOD. For instance, the business turns bread bags into long-lasting, recyclable bags that are sold in stores to encourage conservation and support charity initiatives. These sacks are sold in BBROOD’s outlets across Kenya, Uganda, and the Netherlands, promoting conservation and reducing waste.

The famous entrepreneur bakery BBROOD will collaborate with Roam to advance its sustainability goals by facilitating the payment of unused bread to Don Bosco Missions Kenya, a charity that empowers younger people. BBROOD ensures that all its products are clean, cooked immediately, and distributed earlier each night. Unsold bread and pastries are returned to the shop at the end of the day and are picked up by Don Bosco the following night. Through this partnership, Roam’s energy bike, the Roam Air, may help provide these donations, extending BBROOD’S generous reach with a sustainability-focused method.

The modern design of Roam Air, which has a double removable battery system and 160 km of range, will make it possible to deliver fresh bread without interruption while supporting BBROOD’s commitment to sustainability and generous impact.

The innovative Roam Air’s features are as follows:

  • Battery Capacity: 2 by 3.24 watt
  • Range ( Dual Battery ): 160 km
  • Nominal Power: 3000 W
  • Best Speed: 90 km/h
  • Load: 220 kg
  • Weight ( Single Battery ): 135 kg
  • Charging Time: 4 h

Roam Air helps us lower pollution and ensures that our freshly baked homemade food is delivered efficiently.” Their technical assistance gives us the confidence to concentrate on what we do best: providing our customers with the best-handcrafted bread.

” We are excited about this transformative collaboration with BBROOD”, Elijah Gakomo, Sales Executive at Roam, commented. This will support our shared goal of creating clean transportation, and it will also signal a significant shift in Nairobi’s delivery environment, enabling more businesses to access sustainable delivery.
