Project Solara, an early platform for enterprise devices based on artificial intelligence ( AI ) agents rather than traditional apps, was a preview product for Microsoft in Build 2026.

What Solara means for business That
Solara envisions a future where Iot agencies can use computers, interact windows, and laptops as their starting points. Solara extends the concept to dedicated office devices used in medical, financial, area operations, kindness, logistics, or other front environments, while the same change is already present in RTX Spark PCs for AI agents.
That change may introduce new, well-known IT issues. Access to office information, customer information, speakers, cameras, recordings, transcripts, and cloud-based agent services may be required for a system similar to Solara. Qualcomm and MediaTek were the first silicon partners for the Solara concept designs. With AccuWeather, Best Buy, CVS Health, Levi’s, Target, and others, according to Microsoft, private pilots are planned for the upcoming months.
Solara is merely a preliminary platform preview. The next thing to remember is to monitor the device strategy, but don’t treat Solara as procurement-ready because Microsoft hasn’t announced general availability, pricing, commercial hardware, or regional deployment dates.
