Available now on little tractor designs, John Deere unveils its second generation of SmartGrade providing improved freedom, ease of use and outstanding performance. The next generation of SmartGrade is presently available in both Leica and Topcon options, expanding its customer base and expanding its products.

According to Matt Costello, product selling director John Deere,” SmartGrade has been a proven solution that enables our clients to get worksite grade quickly and accurately since its introduction to the construction industry in 2016.” Customers will then benefit from improved and expanded capabilities that help increase customer confidence and efficiency as we expand upon this technology with the rollout of the next generation of SmartGrade, starting with our little dozer line-up. We are convinced that any user looking to enhance their day-to-day operations may find it to be very beneficial to having SmartGrade installed on the jobsite.

Customers can now complete marking tasks with the newest SmartGrade generation and support new operators to reach their quality more quickly and effectively. Clients can get to work faster, as no normal installation or measurement is needed at the start-up of the device. Buyers and sellers can quickly fix their machines using the John Deere Operations CenterTM and Mobile Data Transfer and Remote Display Access inclusion when problems arise.

The new G5 10-in. has split screen capabilities. The operator is able to view both the selected grade management option and the jobsite plans from the touchscreen display, which increases operator flexibility. Additionally, the monitor in the cab makes it simple to perform machine calibrations.

The 450, 550, and 650 P-Tier dozer models come with upgradeable technology solutions that allow machine capabilities to adapt to business or jobsite requirements. Therefore, customers can select the solution that best suits their needs, including the adoption of EZ Grade with electro-hydraulic ( EH) controls, Slope Control, SmartGrade-Ready with 2D grade control or 3D SmartGrade with Topcon or Leica. These options not only give the customer the ability to improve performance, but they can also be upgraded to a more advanced grade management solution.

The new SmartGrade-Ready with 2D grade control option comes pre-wired for SmartGrade with Leica and Topcon, enabling seamless upgradeability. The new John Deere G5 display, which has slope control and simple plug-and-play laser capabilities, is included with this choice. For customers who may later require SmartGrade, this solution is a great choice.

On all 450, 550, and 650 P-Tier dozers currently on the market, the next generation of SmartGrade can now be purchased factory or as field kit replacements.
